You know the feeling.
You see something on the rack in your favorite store. The pull is immediate. Yes. That. Boom.
And then the brain arrives.
The brain has so many questions.
Where would you wear it?
Is the color too bright?
Is it worth what they're asking?
It runs its whole inventory, item by item. And by the time it's done, the piece is back on the rack and you're holding something that stirs nothing in you at all.
All that thinking didn't protect you. It just traded your joy for another filler piece.
The first yes is more magical than the brain. It comes from the part of you that knows, without doing any math, what belongs to you. She was there before every rule you were handed. She's the only part of you that has ever spoken in the language of self-possession.
What will it take to trust your yes?
The closet is a perfect place to start practicing.
PUT ON the first yes this morning. This would be the wanting that arrives before the questions start. Reach for it, and let your brain spend the rest of the day figuring out how to make it work.
