I can’t stop thinking about the snails.
It took about ten thousand sea snails, harvested off the coast of what is now Lebanon, to make one gram of purple dye. A gram is about what one small paper clip weighs. Ten thousand snails for a paper clip of color. Can you imagine that bill?
Kings wore it, and later Roman emperors made it a crime for almost anyone else to wear it. And here we are, with a whole rack of purple at Zara, and nobody can stop us.
The color you stopped wearing is usually the one you love most.
Color doesn’t require permission. Put it on and pay attention to how you feel.
A woman wearing the color she loves looks like herself.
PUT ON Wear one piece in the color you love most, on an ordinary day, for no reason at all.
