When I shop places like H&M, I look for the pieces that will make you (and me) feel something.
Over the years, I’ve collected tips for finding the best things, even when no super premium collaborations are happening.
1. Very often H&M advertises collections or drops after they go live. Last year, they had a whole White Lotus collection that I barely saw advertised until it was already live and the best pieces were gone. Never trust the algorithm! Keep your eye on that H&M app on regular mornings.
2. The PREMIUM line is one of the best collections, in my opinion, and it gets no press. A $59 top feels like a $200 piece every time.
3. There’s a rumor out there, one I’ve tested with success, that says if something is priced above $49.99, its quality is outrageously better than the price. That gap is worth shopping. So if you see something online or in the store above that price point, trust it.
4. This is an in-store pro tip I’ve used hundreds of times, including last weekend. H&M Studio and the other premium lines get returned to stores near you, and when they do, they go right into clearance. Even if you’re annoyed by long, messy racks, those sale sections are hiding a goldmine of quality. Take five minutes to browse!
