I have to tell you about the Chanel spring/summer 2027 fashion show in Paris because I can’t stop thinking about it.
Under the gorgeous glass roof of the Grand Palais, there were 95 (!!) glowing geese suspended in the air with a beautiful moon floating above them.
I mean, can you imagine?!
The runway was covered in colored glass reflecting shades of orange, green, and yellow. The music started with birds singing and “The Swan,” and then, because apparently this show was determined to make me lose my mind, Britney Spears came on for the finale.
“Gimme More.”
AT CHANEL.
Nicole Kidman and Dua Lipa were dancing in their seats, and honestly, I would have loved to be right there with them.
But here’s the part that gave me actual goosebumps.
The very first model walked out carrying Coco Chanel’s own original 2.55 quilted handbag. They had pulled it straight out of the archives for the show.
Gosh I love fashion history.
Anyway, the collection was designed by Matthieu Blazy, and he said something about women that I think is so beautiful.
“Throughout their lives, women become multiple selves, different faces of the same coin.”
Isn’t that the truth?
I think about all the different versions of myself who have stood in front of a closet.
The little girl dressing her Barbies for the incredible lives she imagined they’d have.
The teenage girl who wasn’t sure she belonged in the beautiful clothes she loved.
The woman who discovered that putting on a great blazer could make her feel like she could walk into any room.
And the woman I am today, who still wants to wear something completely fabulous and ridiculous to the grocery store just because it makes me happy.
They’re all me.
And I think sometimes we forget that we’re allowed to be more than one version of ourselves.
We get so attached to being the practical one. The professional one. The mom. The woman who always wears black. The woman who doesn’t want too much attention.
And then one day we see something completely unexpected and think, Oh my gosh, I LOVE that.
And immediately another little voice says, That’s not really you.
But what if it IS you?
What if it’s just a version of you that hasn’t had much airtime lately?
Your closet holds every woman you’ve been, and a few you haven’t met yet.
I think that’s just wonderful.
And because I can’t talk about Chanel without talking about that iconic quilted bag, here are two beautiful options that give you a little of that feeling without the Chanel price tag.
1. Quilted chain flap shoulder bag, Amazon, $39.99
2. Italian leather quilted convertible crossbody, Quince, $124

PUT ON Today, I want you to mix two versions of yourself.
Wear something that reminds you of who you’ve been with something that feels like the woman you’re becoming.
Maybe it’s your favorite old jeans with the fabulous new shoes. Maybe it’s a classic blazer with something totally unexpected underneath.
There are no rules here.
And now I want to know: What’s one version of yourself that your closet hasn’t met yet?
